Broncos Beat Kalamazoo College in Exhibition Contest

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - In its final tune-up before the start of the 2024-25 regular season next week, the Western Michigan men's basketball team knocked off Kalamazoo College, 92-63. 

The Broncos came out hot and raced out to a 15-2 lead over the first four minutes of the contest. Kalamazoo College used a 9-2 stretch to work its way back to within seven, 21-14. With the margin at 31-23, Western Michigan went on an extended 18-6 run to seize its largest cushion of the first half, 49-29. The Brown and Gold took a 49-32 advantage into the locker room.

In the early stages of the second half, the Hornets utilized a 10-4 spurt to trim the margin to 15, 57-42. Just past the midway point of the period, WMU used a 12-2 run boost its advantage to 77-51. An 11-4 stretch then helped the Broncos attain their largest cushion of the night, 91-59, with just over two minutes to play. 

Western Michigan begins its 2024-25 campaign on Monday, Nov. 4, as it heads to Coastal Carolina for the first game of the MAC-Sun Belt Challenge. The Broncos open up their regular season home slate on Nov. 7 at 7 pm against Davenport. Tickets for all WMU men's basketball home games are available at wmubroncos.com/tickets.
