KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Western Michigan graduate student
Jen Blitchok was selected as the Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced this afternoon. The veteran forward has now earned the award three times this season. She is the only player in the conference to receive three weekly awards this year.
Blitchok continued her marvelous 2024 season by scoring seven points on three goals and one assist in a pair of wins over Toledo and Ball State last week. Her dominant play helped the Broncos secure the MAC Regular Season Championship and remain undefeated in conference play.
She began the week with an assist against Toledo, putting the game out of reach late in the second half. WMU won the game 2-0. She followed that up with her second hat trick of the season against Ball State. She scored the second, third and fourth goals of the game for the Brown and Gold, leading to a 5-4 win.
The Grandville, Mich. native led the conference in points and goals on the week. In the win over Ball State, she broke the program record for goals in a season. In 2024, she has 37 points on 15 goals and 7 assists. She leads the MAC in nearly every offensive category, sitting just four goals and eight points shy of conference single-season records.
Nationally, Blitchok is top 10 in both points and goals this season. She was named the Top Drawer Soccer National Player of the Week earlier this week.
