Case Named MAC Setter of the Week

CLEVELAND – For the third time this season, Western Michigan fifth-year setter Logan Case has been named the MAC Setter of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
 
Case racked up 152 assists (12.67/set) and 32 digs (2.67/set) to help Western Michigan hit .323 on the way to a 3-0 week. The Maineville, Ohio, native started the week with the first of two double-doubles, picking up 30 assists and 10 digs in a sweep of NIU.
 
She then had 55 assists and nine digs in Thursday's four-set win over Akron, and capped the week with a career-high 67 assists and 13 digs in another victory over the Zips. In the fourth set of Friday's contest, Case became the first Bronco and third player in MAC history to reach 6,000 career assists.
 
After the weekend, Case moved back up to second in the nation in assists per set at 11.54. As a team, Western Michigan sits atop the conference in both assists per set (13.03) and kills per set (13.70), which rank 18th and 27th, respectively, in NCAA Division I.
