WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- The Western Michigan men's tennis team fell to the University of Denver, 5-2, at Purdue University on Saturday afternoon.
DOUBLES
The Broncos (2-3) dropped the doubles point, with losses at No. 1 and No. 2. Marvin Schraber and Anish Sriniketh defeated
Jackson Boone and
Drew Evans, 6-0 at No. 1. Nicholas Herrero and Rikuto Yamaguchi secured the doubles point with a 6-4 win over Matej Kazjer and
Anton Arzhankin.
SINGLES
WMU's two points came from Boone and freshman
Ashton Adesoro. Boone picked up a 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 victory over Schraber at No. 3. Adesoro earned a two-set win over Peter Sallay, 6-4, 7-5.
ON THE HORIZON
The Broncos return home to host Butler and Cornerstone on Saturday, Feb. 10. The Bulldogs and Broncos square off at 9 a.m., with the match against the Golden Eagles at 7 p.m. Admission is free.
