Men's Tennis Falls at Michigan State

EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Western Michigan men's tennis team suffered its first loss of the season, falling at Michigan State, 6-1, on Friday afternoon.
 
The Spartans took the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2. Jackson Boone and Drew Evans fell at No. 1, 6-3, to Aristotelis Thanos and Taym Alazmeh. Matej Kajzer and Anton Arzhankin suffered a 6-3 loss at No. 2 to Sebastian Collard and Graydon Lair.
 
WMU's lone point came at the hands of Arzhankin, with a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 2 over Thanos. Benjamin George battled 12th-ranked Ronald Hohmann III to a three-set loss. George took the first set 7-6 (7-5), but dropped the second set 6-4. The two then went to a super tiebreaker, with Hohmann III taking it 1-0 (10-4).
 
The Broncos are back in East Lansing on Saturday to take on Brown University at 12 p.m.
