MISSOURI – The Missouri Valley Conference announced its players of the week Tuesday afternoon. Forward Charlie Sharp has been named the MVC's offensive player of the week.
On Sunday in Western Michigan's 5-4 win over Dayton, Sharp made program history by inserting himself into sole possession of the third most games played in WMU men's soccer history with 74 and scored a hat-trick off an efficient four shots. In the process, Sharp jumped to third in the program scoring record book with 28 career goals. The senior from Brighton, Michigan, sits five goals away from claiming the second most goals in program history. Randy Wojtala (1976-79) currently holds the second-place position with 29 goals scored.
Sharp and the rest of the Broncos will return to action 5:00 PM tomorrow against Detroit Mercy at the WMU Soccer Complex. For the latest updates on the men's soccer team, make sure to follow the squad on Instagram @wmu_menssoccer, Twitter @wmumenssoccer, and Facebook @wmumenssoccer.
