The Western Michigan softball program and WMU Director of Athletics Dan Bartholomae have announced head coach
Jenny Rohn has left the program to be the head coach at Harvard University.
"While it is bittersweet to see Jenny leave, I know she is drawn to her long time coaching history at Harvard and her personal/family connections in the area, and we wish her the very best with this new opportunity," said Bartholomae. "Jenny has quickly established a new energy and culture within our softball program and has set a foundation for future success. We are appreciative of her time here and we will cheer her on as an alumna, colleague, and friend."
Rohn departs after one year, posting a 17-29 overall record, 11-15 in the MAC. The Broncos earned nine Academic All-MAC selections, five CSC Academic All-District, and a program-best 17 NFCA Scholar-Athletes. Junior pitcher Rissa Bajuz was named MAC Pitcher of the Week twice, earning Second Team All-MAC honors, and finished the season ranked third in the league for strikeouts with 163.
"Coming back to coach at my alma mater has been a great honor. I love this team and this university," said Coach Rohn. "Thank you to the student-athletes and coaching staff for giving your heart to the program, and to the administration for the support. I will always be cheering for this team and wish them all the best."
A national search has already begun for the next leader of the Bronco softball program.
