KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan gymnastics team and its student-athletes have been recognized by the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association for academic excellence during the 2023 season.
Roni Binstock (3.95, sport management), Halle Faulkner (3.86, exercise science), Molly Freeman (3.95, psychology), Rylee Gallmeyer (3,86, accountancy), Amanda Gruber (4.00, biomedical sciences), Makenna King (3.52, sport management), Sarah Moravansky (3.80, biomedical sciences), Payton Murphy (4.00, nursing), Dani Petrousek (3.53, English), Breckin Quoss (3.90, marketing), Donnakathryn Roy (3.95, sport management), Ally Schaup (3.55, mechanical engineering), Abby Singh (3.79, biomedical sciences), Gigi Singh (3.59, nursing), Cassie St. Clair (3.72, digital marketing), Josie Thomas (4.0, accountancy), Charlotte Tishkoff (3.78) and Brenna Woodruff (3.84, physician assistant prep) were all named WGCA Scholastic All-Americans.
As a team, the Broncos posted a 3.7558 GPA ranking seventh in the nation and best in the Mid-American Conference. The Broncos also had the second-best percentage of its roster earning individual honors at 94.74 percent.
Murphy and Thomas' 4.0 GPAs were among 223 student-athletes in the sport.
