TEMPE, Ariz. – The Western Michigan women's tennis team earned accolades from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, with Karin Hamilton, Valeriya Monko, Maya Perkuci, Kiana Rizzolo, Kaitlyn Rogosch and Audrey Smitek named ITA Scholar-Athletes. The team earned ITA All-Academic Team Award, as well.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must have a GPA of at least 3.50 for the current academic year. To earn the team award, a team must have a GPA of 3.20 or above.
Hamilton, Rizzolo and Smitek each sport 4.0's. Perkucin has a 3.94, with Monko at 3.86 and Rogosch with a 3.53. Hamilton, Perkucin, Rizzolo and Rogosch all earned Academic All-Mid-American Conference honors, while Hamiton, Perkucin and Rogosch earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team selections.
