Zieglar and Hamilton Named All-MAC

CLEVELAND – Western Michigan's Lindsey Ziegler and Karin Hamilton have been voted to the Women's Tennis All-Mid-American Conference Team, announced Friday by the league office.

Zielgar joins WMU Athletics Hall of Famers Kerstin Pahl, Frederika Girsang and Larissa Chinwah as the only women's tennis players to earn First Team All-MAC honors three times in their careers. Zieglar went 7-3 in MAC play and was 14-4 in dual matches. The Daytona Beach, Fla., native played predominantly at No. 1, going 12-3 at the spot. She was also 2-1 at No. 2. Zieglar was also part of WMU's No. 1 doubles pairing, along with junior Valeriya Monko. Zieglar and Monko went 5-3 in MAC play and 15-5 overall, all at No. 1.

Hamilton was named Second Team All-MAC, earning the first conference honors of her career. The junior was 5-5 in MAC play and 9-7 in dual matches. She teamed up with freshman Audrey Smitek to go 15-5 at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles, including 5-3 in conference.
