ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Western Michigan track and field team sent its throwing squad to the Don Kleinow Memorial Invitational hosted by Siena Heights, and the team was able to produce some strong results throughout the day on April 14.
Elli Stender began the day in the javelin, where she was able to grab 13th place with a personal-best throw of 27.55 meters. Next up was the hammer throw, which featured
Lily Kucharek,
Kennedy Hagens and
Lane Hagens. Kucharek took fourth place with a throw of 47.45 meters,
Kennedy Hagens placed 11th with a mark of 40.29 meters and
Lane Hagens notched a 24th-place finish with a throw of 37.02 meters. All of those throws were season bests.
To conclude the meet,
Kennedy Hagens was able to grab seventh in the shot put with a season-best throw of 11.89 meters.
The Broncos will be back in action next weekend with a pair of meets on the schedule. WMU will compete in the Virginia Challenge and the Jesse Owens Classic.
