Broncos Wrap Up Competition at Texas Relays

AUSTIN, Texas -- A pair of Western Michigan track and field athletes concluded competition at the Texas Relays Friday afternoon. Grace Johnson and Claira Gilchrist competed in a pair of events over the last two days. 

On Thursday, Gilchrist competed in the 400-meter hurdles, notching 59th place with a time of 1:05.05. The top three finishers came from Auburn, Clemson and Oklahoma State. 

Earlier today, Johnson took part in the 100-meter hurdles, where she claimed 26th place. She crossed the finish line in a time of 13.68. She was the highest MAC finisher in the event. 

WMU is back in action next week when it hosts the Jack Shaw Invitational on April 7-8.
