Williams, Ross Receive All-MAC Honors

CLEVELAND – The Mid-American Conference released 2022-23 women's basketball postseason awards on Tuesday with redshirt duo Taylor Williams and Lauren Ross earning spots as All-MAC Honorable Mentions. Williams was also named to the All-MAC Defensive Team. 
 
The honor stands as the second All-MAC Honorable Mention accolade for Williams. She was named to the All-MAC Freshman Team and was an Honorable Mention in 2020-21.  Ross claims her first Honorable Mention honors this season. In the 2020-21 season, she was named to the All-MAC Freshman Team and earned All-MAC Third Team honors. 
 
Williams actively led the Broncos this season with 14.7 PPG, she added 43 assists and 31 steals. Williams spent 2022-23 as the leading rebounder, averaging 9.0 per game with 46 blocks. Her 46 blocks ranked her second in the conference and 47th in the nation. She also ranked third in the MAC and 52nd nationally for rebounds with a total of 253, including 65 offensive and 188 defensive boards.
 
At Buffalo on March 4th, Williams surpassed 1,000 career points to become the 28th Bronco to have scored 1,000 points in her career. Her 15-point and 11-rebound performance against the Bulls posted her tenth double-double on the season and her 27th over her career.
 
The redshirt junior recorded a season-high 29 points against Akron on February 4th, leading the Broncos in scoring and rebounds with nine. Her 29 points tied for the 11th-most points scored in a single game in school history. She also registered a career-high seven assists in the same contest.
 
Ross scored a career-high 35 points with eight rebounds, four assists, and three steals against Chicago State on December 17th. She led the Broncos in scoring in 14 contests this season before her season-ending knee injury on January 21st. Ross tallied 40 assists this season to surpass 80 career assists and totaled 24 steals. Ross also registered a season-high five three-pointers made and 10 attempted against Ohio University on January 18th. She finished this season with 909 career points and 241 rebounds.
