Women's Tennis Hosts PNW Wednesday Before Opening MAC Play at Ball State

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan women's tennis team wraps up non-conference play on Wednesday afternoon, hosting Purdue University Northwest at West Hills Athletic Club at 1 p.m.

Admission is free to all WMU women's tennis matches and live scoring can be found at www.wmustats.com.

The Broncos (8-3) return to action after a couple of sweeps during their Spring Break trip down in Florida. WMU defeated Tennessee State, 4-0, and Bethune-Cookman, 7-0, down in Daytona. Western Michigan has won its last three matches and is 7-1 in its last eight.

PNW is 5-5 heading into Wednesday's match and closes out the non-conference season for the Broncos. WMU opens Mid-American Conference play on Saturday at the reigning regular season and tournament champions, Ball State. The Cardinals have won each of their last nine matches and have only given up two or more points once during that run. BSU recently picked up a win over Azusa Pacific University and UC San Diego on the road last week. Ball State is 6-1 at home this season, with the lone loss coming against James Madison University.

The Broncos continue road MACtion next Friday at Eastern Michigan and Sunday at Miami.
