GLENDALE, Ariz. – Western Michigan football alums Skyy Moore and Mike Caliendo are preparing for Super Bowl LVII with the Kansas City Chiefs as they take on the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday at 6:30 p.m.
Caliendo, who played for WMU five seasons at center for the Broncos before signing a free agent deal with Kansas City, has been on the Chiefs' practice squad for the past two seasons, while Moore has played in 16 games in his first season in the NFL. Moore, who was a second-round pick by Kansas City in the 2022 NFL Draft, made 22 receptions for 250 yards.
Moore made his impact in the AFC Championship game against the Cincinnati Bengals, returning a punt to the Bengal 47-yard line in the final minute to help set up the game-winning field goal to send the Chiefs to the Super Bowl. Moore also had three receptions in the game for 13 yards.
Only two Bronco football alums have won the Super Bowl rings. Tom Nütten started on the offensive line for the St. Louis Rams during their 2005 Super Bowl Championship. Greg Jennings had four catches for 64 yards and two touchdowns for the Green Bay Packers in their Super Bowl win over the Pittsburgh Steelers back in 2011.
