MADISON, Wis. – The Western Michigan men's team fell on the road, 7-0, at Wisconsin on Friday night.
The Broncos (3-2) missed out on the doubles point for the first time this season, with the Badgers earning wins at No. 1 and No. 3.
Brogan Pierce and
Benjamin George put WMU up with a 6-2 win at No. 2 over Robin Parts and Sebastian Vile. Gabriel Huber and Michael Minasyan bested
Arjun Honnappa and
Fynn Lohse, 6-4, at No. 1. The point came down to No. 3 and it was settled in a tie-breaker after Jason Hildebrand and Jared Pratt were deadlocked with Western Michigan's
Peter Kuszynski and
Ferdinand Schlueter, 6-6. The Badgers got the best of the Broncos, winning the tie-breaker 7-0.
Sophomore
Anton Arzhankin and George were able to push their opponents to three sets in singles, but the Broncos were unable to get a point on the day.
WMU stays in Madison to take on Yale on Saturday at 2 p.m. ET.
