CATALDO'S COMMENTS
"I thought we did a great job of competing. Each event we scored in, we finished higher than we were ranked going in. Even those athletes that didn't score, they found a way to move up three to seven spots, which is the progression we want to see. Two of our true freshmen (
Anichka Malachi and
Tess Van Dyk) made the final in their first championship, which is not an easy task. The 60 hurdles was one of the highlights of the weekend because both Grace and Ahvon broke the school record in the final. You can't ask for more than that. Mak did an exceptional job this weekend. Breaking records and getting the team 16 points over two events is outstanding. I believe she is the first person to win the indoor 5K in school history. We still have room to grow, and we're going to build on this as we head to the outdoor season."
