ALLENDALE, Mich. -- The Western Michigan track and field team concluded its indoor regular season by competing at the Grand Valley State Big Meet earlier today. The Broncos now turn their attention to the MAC Championships, which is set for Feb. 24-25 in Bowling Green, Ohio.
Claira Gilchrist competed in both the 200 and 400 meter dash. In the 200-meter dash, she finished 32nd with a time of 27.29. Then in the 400-meter dash, Gilchrist was able to earn 46th place with a time of 1:02.94.
In the 800-meter run,
LaJeanee' Porter was 25th after crossing the finish line in a time of 2:26.54. Also running in the event was
Madison Zarembski, who finished 36th with a time of 2:35.48.
Delaney Knoll was strong in the 3,000-meter run, notching a 19th-place finish with a time of 10:34.13.
In the field,
Tess Van Dyk was able to finish fifth in the shot put, tallying a mark of 12.87 meters.
Kennedy Hagens was also strong, collecting 11th place with a throw of 11.81 meters. Just behind her in 14th place was
Lane Hagens, who finished with a throw of 11.71 meters. The final thrower of the afternoon was
Elli Stender, and she finished in 37th place with a mark of 8.52 meters.
