KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- College Sports Communicators released its Academic All-District list earlier today, with four Western Michigan men's soccer players earning the honor.
Ethan Brandt,
Jonathan Robinson,
Charlie Sharp, and
Dylan Sing were selected for their efforts on the field and in the classroom.
The 2023 Academic All-District® Men's Soccer Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. All four student-athletes follow up on their Missouri Valley Conference Scholar Athlete selections: This year, Sing and Sharp earned first team honors, while Robinson and Brandt claimed second team MVC Scholar Athlete honors for Western Michigan.
Brandt, who is majoring in Aviation Flight Science, tallied a GPA of 3.86. The goalkeeper from Torrance, California is ranked fifth in the NCAA in shutouts with nine on the season.
Robinson is pursuing a degree in Recreation: Sport Management and currently owns a GPA of 3.63. The defender currently ranks second in the NCAA in assists with 13 and counting for the Brown and Gold.
Sharp is pursuing a degree in Computer Information Systems and has a GPA of 3.73. This season, Sharp leads the NCAA with 19 goals scored and has accumulated a league-best 46 total points thus far in 2023.
Sing, a graduate student studying Integrated Supply Management, owns a GPA of 3.99. Sing is second in the NCAA in total points with 38 currently. In the goal scoring department, the forward is tied for third with 15 goals and counting. Sing follows up on his Missouri Valley Conference Scholar Athlete of the Year honor in which he claimed earlier this month.
The 2023 Academic All-District® Men's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Academic All-District honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First, second, and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in early December.
