TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The College Soccer News committee announced for the week ending on October 22, 2023, that forward
Charlie Sharp was named to the College Soccer News National Team of The Week.
Last week, Sharp had one assist in the 3-1 win over Northern Illinois on Wednesday, October 18, and also had the game-winning goal in last night's 2-1 road victory over #10 Missouri State. Yesterday, Sharp's game-winner helped Western Michigan to a program-best 14th consecutive game without a loss.
As of yesterday morning, the forward from Brighton, Michigan, is tied for 12th in NCAA men's soccer with 10 goals on the season. Additionally, with Sharp's game-winning goal in the 75th minute last night, he is now one goal behind Dan Edwards (1991-94) for a share of the program record for the most goals scored in program history (34). Also in the accolade department, Sharp extended his program record of game-winning goals with his strike yesterday to 12 in his career.
Sharp and the rest of the Broncos will return to WMU Soccer Complex for Senior Day on Friday, October 27, versus Belmont with an early 3:30 PM kickoff. Live Stats and livestream information are available under the men's soccer schedule.
