TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The College Soccer News committee announced for the week ending on October 15, 2023, that
Tom Cooklin was named to the College Soccer News National Team of The Week.
Today, Cooklin received his first College Soccer News Team of The Week honors of his career after leading Western Michigan to a 5-0 win over in-state rival Oakland and a 3-0 Homecoming victory over Drake. The graduate student from Lewes, England secured a career-best four assists versus Oakland during WMU's victory last Wednesday and scored his first goal of the season in Western's 3-0 win over Drake on Saturday. Cooklin's performance this past week helped the Brown and Gold extend its unbeaten streak to a new program-best 12 games without a loss.
As of this morning, Cooklin with six helpers on the season, sits two assists away from entering into a tie for fifth in the division one men's soccer assist department.
Cooklin and the rest of the Broncos will return to WMU Soccer Complex for the final game of their three-game homestand versus Northern Illinois University on Wednesday, October 18, at 4:00 PM.
