CLEVELAND – For the second straight week a member of the Western Michigan men's soccer team has been named Mid-American Conference Player of the Week, with
Charlie Sharp taking the honors this week.
Sharp was instrumental in WMU's wins over Purdue Fort Wayne and St. Thomas, last week. Against PFW he netted WMU's third goal of the game in the 3-0 win, to help seal the Broncos' fourth straight win. In Sunday's 4-0 win against UST he had a goal and two assists. He assisted on the game-opening goal just over a minute into the game. He scored the second goal of the game and then assisted on the third goal of the game, extending WMU's winning streak to five games.
The Broncos open Mid-American Conference play on Friday at 5 p.m., hosting Northern Illinois at the WMU Soccer Complex.
