KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan senior forward
Jason Polin has been named the captain of the WMU Hockey team for the 2022-23 season, with fifth-year senior forward
Cole Gallant and junior defenseman
Aidan Fulp serving as assistant captains.
Polin becomes the 50th student-athlete in program history to wear the "C". The Holt, Mich., native enters the season on the back of the most productive season in his career. "It's an honor and a privilege to be named captain here at Western Michigan and to have my name in the same conversation as all the great captains that came before me," said Polin. "It's an exciting opportunity and I'm looking forward to leading this talented group of guys to a great year."
Gallant returns for his fifth season with the Broncos, also posting career-best numbers last season with nine goals and 17 assists for 26 points. The Dover, Fla., native also played in all 39 games in one of the best seasons in program history.
Fulp logged heavy minutes on the blue line last season, paired up with All-American and current Philadelphia Flyer
Ronnie Attard. He finished with 13 points on two goals and 11 assists and had a plus/minus of +8.
