KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan University Division of Intercollegiate Athletics have announced the 2022 WMU Athletics Hall of Fame Class with
Kathy Beauregard (administration),
Nancy Cox (field hockey),
Carrie Moore (women's basketball),
Michelle Moore (volleyball) and
Kerstin Pahl Gens (women's tennis) set to be inducted.
The WMU Athletics Hall of Fame Committee honored the 50th anniversary of the passing of Title IX with an all-female class, the largest all-female class in the history of the Hall of Fame. The class also pairs with Bronco Athletic Fund's Excellence in Women's Sports campaign to empower female Broncos to make a difference in competition and in the classroom. The Hall of Fame Induction will take place Friday, October 14
th with a special recognition of the inductees during the Homecoming football game on October 15
th versus Ohio. The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place Friday night at the Deltas Hotels by Marriott Kalamazoo Conference Center. The reception starts at 7:30pm and will include heavy hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar.
Tickets are $50 per person, with $25 going to the Excellence in Women's Sports Fund in honor of 50 years of Title IX.

Kathy Beauregard
Administration 1988-2021
Kalamazoo, Mich.
- 24 years as WMU Director of Athletics
- Oversaw programs that won 58 Mid-American Conference Championships
- Oversaw WMU Football's undefeated 2016 regular season and first-ever berth in a BCS Bowl, the 2017 Cotton Bowl Classic.
- First-ever MAC Trailblazer Award winner.
- 2012 Gerald R. Ford Sportsman of the Year recipient.
- Served as NCAA Olympic Sports Committee Liaison, NCAA Championships Committee Cabinet, the NCAA Football Bowl Certification Committee, and the NCAA Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
- Oversaw the $21 million construction of the Seelye Athletic Indoor Center, the $8 million Bill Brown Football Alumni Center, and the $2.2 million renovation Robert J. Bobb Stadium at Hyames Field.
- Oversaw men's sports that won eight MAC Institutional Academic Achievement Awards.
Nancy Cox
Field Hockey – Halfback - 1978-81
Livonia, Mich.
- Helped WMU to a 50-31-4 record in her four seasons.
- Had a career-high two goals and five assists as a senior
- As a defensive specialist, helped record 31 shutouts
- Went on to have a long and successful coaching career, culminating with being named to the National Field Hockey Association Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019.
Carrie Moore
Women's Basketball – Guard – 2004-07

- MAC Co-Player of the Year in 2007
- Three-time First Team All-MAC Selection (2005, 2006, 2007)
- NCAA Statistical Champion in points per game with 25.4 in 2006-07
- 2007 Kodak Honorable Mention All-American
- Holds WMU record for career points (2,224), field goals (759) and free throws made (541).
- Two-time ESPN the Magazine CoSIDA Academic All-District selection (2006, 2007)
- Second Team COSIDA All-American (2007).
Michelle Moore
Volleyball – Outside Hitter – 2006-09
Fort Wayne, Ind.
- Program's all-time leader in kills (1,919) and points (2,084)
- Tied for the program record in both matches played (139) and sets played (516)
- Owns 3 of the top-9 single-season kill totals in WMU history
- Member of the 2008 team which won the MAC Regular Season Title, received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament and won two matches in the tournament to reach the Sweet 16
- Two-time First Team All-MAC selection (2007, 2008)

Kerstin Pahl Gens

- Helped WMU to MAC Championships in 2006, 2007 and 2008
- Won MAC Tournament Titles in 2006 and 2007
- Three-time First Team All-MAC selection.
- Named MAC Player of the Year in 2008, one of just three athletes in program history to earn the honors.
- Named MAC Freshman of the Year in 2006
- All-time total wins leader in program history with 232, all-time singles wins leader with 114 and all-time doubles wins leader with 118.
- Single-season overall wins record holder with 66.
- 2009 ITA Cissie Leary Sportsmanship Award recipient both Midwest Region and Nationally
- Four-time ITA Scholar Athlete.
- Achieved highest personal-best ITA singles ranking of 98 and doubles ranking of 56
- WMU Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year for 2008-09
