THE FIRST PITCH
Western Michigan closes out the 2022 regular season with a four-game road series at Ohio. The Broncos hold an 87-70 advantage in the all-time series against the Bobcats, including grabbing three out of four from OU to end the 2021 regular season in Kalamazoo. This weekend marks WMU's first trip to Athens since 2018.

SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
Ohio begins the final weekend of the regular season with a two-game lead over Miami for fourth-place in the conference and the final spot in next week's MAC Tournament. The Bobcats are coming off of a split of a four-game series at Ball State, making OU the first team to avoid a series loss in Muncie this season.

LAST TIME OUT
Western Michigan finished out its 2022 home slate by dropping three out of four last weekend against Kent State. The Broncos picked up their lone win of the series on Senior Day, a 17-6 rout of the Golden Flashes which saw senior outfielder Ryan Missal end the game with a bases-clearing three-run double down the right field line.

SETTING THE TABLE
Jimmy Allen kept his hot streak going over the weekend, as he hit .500 (9-for-18) and reached base at a .571 clip against the Golden Flashes. The shortstop blasted three home runs against Kent State, including leadoff homers in each of the first two games of the series.

BASH BROTHERS
In Sunday's victory over Kent State, Dylan Nevar blasted his 10th home run of the season, tying Cade Sullivan for the team lead. The duo is the first pair of Bronco teammates to hit double-digit long balls in the same season since the trio of John Toner (16), Greg Graham (14) and Sam Flamont (12) did it in 2001.

DOUBLE TROUBLE
Over the weekend, Western Michigan bashed 18 doubles, bringing their season total to 123, a new single-season team record. The 123 two-baggers are the most in the Mid-American Conference in 2022 and are the ninth-most nationally. Seven different Broncos have tallied double-digit doubles this season, led by Gavin Doyle and Dylan Nevar, whose 18 doubles are tied for fourth-most in the league. Connor Charping and Cade Sullivan have 16 apiece, tying them for ninth-most in the MAC.

GAVIN GETS ON BASE
Gavin Doyle went 9-for-19 (.474) at the plate against KSU with seven RBIs and six runs scored. The junior is up to seventh in the MAC in average (.363) sixth in OBP (.472) and fourth in walks (35). In league play, Doyle is hitting .371 and owns a .477 on-base percentage, while his 16 doubles are second-most in conference play.

COUNTING ON CONNOR
Connor Charping continues to litter the league leaderboards, as he ranks 13th in average (.345), third in runs scored (54) and tied for fourth in hits (67).

BRONCO BOMBS
With their six home runs against Kent State, the Broncos upped their season total to 54. The 54 round-trippers are the most WMU has hit in a season since blasting 59 in 2008.

CAN'T CATCH THE CATCHER
After stealing a program-record 32 bases in 2021, senior catcher Connor Charping has stolen 24 bases so far in 2022, which leads the MAC. With his 66 career steals, Charping ranks third in program history.

GETTING ON THE PAINFUL WAY
Justin McIntyre has set a new WMU single-season program record with 26 hit by pitches this season which ranks second in the country. The senior has been hit 49 times in his career, three shy of tying Western Michigan's career record.
