ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Western Michigan track and field team wrapped up the Golden Grizzlies Invitational hosted by Oakland University on Saturday.
Sophomore
Ahvon Mitchell had the top finish on the track for the Brown & Gold, taking third overall in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:06.22. Senior
Madison Ochs had the top finish in the field for WMU, taking third in the shot put with a distance of 43' 2.5" (13.17m). Freshman
Elizabeth Shontz finished sixth overall while throwing a distance of 40' 9" (12.42m).
Senior
Rebecca McNamee took fifth overall in the 1,500-meter run, finishing with a time of 4:43.63. Junior
Annalise James took seventh in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:24, while freshman
Lily Kucharek took seventh overall in the discus with a new personal-bets distance of 125' 5" (38.23m).
Western Michigan takes next week off before heading to the University of Illinois for the Illini Invitational, April 22-23.
