WMU opened the scoring in the second, as Budig brought in a pair with a double. BGSU responded with three in the home half to take a 3-2 edge.

The Falcons' lead was short-lived, as Sullivan and Gavin Doyle each went deep in the third to put WMU back in front, 4-3. The Broncos then tacked on two more in the fourth on a Sullivan two-run double.

Bowling Green responded with a six-run outburst in the bottom of the fourth and three more in the fifth to regain a 12-6 advantage.

The Broncos pulled one back on a Dylan Nevar RBI single in the sixth, but three more Falcon tallies in the seventh put the game beyond reach.
