Ethen Frank Signs With the AHL's Hershey Bears

HERSHEY, Pa. – Western Michigan fifth-year senior forward Ethen Frank has signed a contract for 2022-23 with the Hershey Bears of the AHL on Monday.

Frank will play the rest of the AHL season for the Bears on an amateur tryout contract. The Bears are the top minor league affiliate for the Washington Capitals.

The Papillion, Neb., native spent five seasons with the Broncos, playing in 158 career games with 70 goals and 48 assists for 118 points. Frank led the nation in goal-scoring with 26 this past season, helping WMU to a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament and the program's first NCAA Tournament victory. His 26 goals were the most by a Broncos since the 2000-01 season and he's the first player in program history to lead the nation in goals.

"Thank you to the coaches, training staff and teammates I've had over these past years," said Frank. "The journey was unforgettable and I made relationships that will last forever. I grew a lot in my time at WMU and wouldn't have wanted to do that anywhere else."

Frank earned Second Team All-National Collegiate Hockey Conference honors during his fifth year and was recently named a CCM/American Hockey Coaches Association Second Team All-American.
