Attard Repeats as NCHC Offensive Defenseman of the Year, Worrad Named Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Western Michigan junior Ronnie Attard has repeated as the National Collegiate Hockey Conference Offensive Defenseman of the Year and senior forward Drew Worrad has been named the NCHC Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year at the 2022 NCHC Awards Show on Thursday.
 
Attard, a First Team All-NCHC selection, posted 21 points in 24 conference games on eight goals and 13 assists. The White Lake, Mich., native helped the Broncos to 14 conference wins, the most in program history during the NCHC era, and finish in third place. Overall, he finished the regular season with 32 points, the most by any NCHC defenseman.
 
Worrad has a 3.90 GPA in accounting and is both a four-time NCHC Academic All-Conference Selection and a NCHC Distinguished Scholar Athlete. The senior is also a two-time American Hockey Coaches Association All-American Scholar. The Birr, Ontario, native led the Broncos in scoring with 40 points during the regular season, earning Second Team All-NCHC honors.

Attard, Worrad and senior forward Ethen Frank were also honored as part of the All-NCHC team. 
 
The Broncos are back in action on Friday night against North Dakota in the NCHC Frozen Faceoff Semifinals at 8:37 p.m. ET. The game is broadcast by CBS Sports Network and can be heard live on the Bronco Radio Network.
