KENT, Ohio – The Western Michigan track and field team wrapped up the final day of competition at Kent State's Doug Raymond National Qualifier on Saturday.
The Broncos combined for six finishes in the top 10 on the day. The highest finish came in the mile run with senior Annalise James taking third place after running 5:08.44. She was followed by fifth-year senior Rebecca McNamee, who took fourth place with a time of 5:10.05.
Over in the 60-meter hurdles, sophomore Ahvon Mitchell ran a time of 8.79 seconds to finish in fifth place, with classmate Grace Johnson running an 8.88 to take seventh. Sophomore Maggie Raab finished in eighth place in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:19.61
Sophomores Sarinity and Trinity Bracey , along with freshman Azariah McGee-Grantham and Johnson combined to run the team's fastest 4x400-meter relay time of the season, breaking four minutes for the first time with a time of 3:59.59. The time earned the Broncos a fourth-place finish in the event.
Western Michigan makes the short trip to the University of Notre Dame for the Alex Wilson Invitational next Friday, in its final meet before the 2022 Indoor Mid-American Conference Championships at KSU.
