ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The fifth-ranked Western Michigan hockey team fell, 4-1, at No. 10 St. Cloud State on Saturday night, snapping a four-game unbeaten streak.

WMU's lone goal was scored by fifth-year senior Ethen Frank late in the second period. SCSU fifth-year senior goalie David Hrenak made 21 saves on the night, with Brandon Bussi making 30 for the Broncos.

After a scoreless first period the Huskies scored back-to-back goals midway through the second period to take a 2-0 lead. Joe Molenaar scored his first of two on the night at 10:38 and Zach Okabe added a goal at 15:49.

Frank cut the lead in half with his nation-leading 21st goal of the season at 17:40. Drew Worrad created a turnover in the neutral zone and passed it to Jamie Rome just inside the SCSU zone. Rome found Frank and he skated into the slot and put one through Hrenak's five-hole and into the net. Worrad picked up his 27th assist and Rome tallied his third of the season.

Molenaar scored on the power play at 13:15 in the third period to put the Broncos down two. Western Michigan pulled Bussi from the net late in the period but Kyler Kupka scored an empty-netter to push it to 4-1.

The Broncos return home after three straight weeks on the road to host No. 3 Denver next Friday and Saturday. Tickets are available by calling 1-888-4-WMUTIX and online at www.wmubroncos.com/tickets.
