Track & Field Announces Staff Additions

KALAMAZOO – The Western Michigan track and field program and interim head coach Kevin Catalado have announced the hiring of Kayleigh Conlon and Josiah Norville to the position of assistant coaches.

Conlon joins the Broncos after competing at Southern Illinois from 2017-22 as a thrower. She was the Missouri Valley Conference champion in the shotput in 2020 and was a four-time All-MVC honoree. Conlon also was a three-time NCAA West Regional Qualifier in the shot put and cracked the top-10 lists for both indoor and outdoor shot put with the Salukis. Conlon graduated from SIU with a degree in exercise science and a minor in coaching in 2022.

Norville comes to Western Michigan after three seasons coaching at University California Santa Barbara. He will coach WMU's sprints, jumps and hurdles group. At UCSB he coached the 4x100 relay team to its first ever Big West title and had runner ups in the in the high jump, long jump and triple jump. Seven of his athletes are in the top-10 all-time performance list at USCB. Prior to his time with the Gauchos he coached at Fresno State, Western State Colorado and Coffeyville Community College. He has a degree in biology and exercise science from Illinois College and a master's degree in exercise physiology with a specialization in strength and conditioning from Baylor.
