Women's Tennis Hosts Ferris State for Double-Header on Sunday

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan women's tennis resumes its season this weekend with a trip to the University of Michigan on Saturday morning before hosting Ferris State in a double-header at West Hills Athletic Club on Sunday at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
 
Sunday's matches are free to attend but all spectators must wear masks within West Hills Athletic Club. FSU kicks off the first of seven non-conference home dates for WMU. Western Michigan also welcomes Oakland on Feb. 5 at 10 a.m., Valparaiso on Feb. 6 at 1 p.m., Arizona on Feb. 10 at 12 p.m., Butler on Feb. 19 at 1 p.m., Milwaukee on Feb. 20 at 11 a.m., UIC on March 17 at 1 p.m., and Kalamazoo College on April 16 at 2 p.m. The Broncos open MAC Play on March 20, hosting Ball State at 1 p.m.
 
WMU competed in four tournaments in the fall, the Hoosier Classic, the Eagles Invitational, the Wolverine Invitational and then hosted the Betsy Kuhle Invitational in November. Saturday's match will be the first dual match for both the Broncos and the Wolverines. Michigan went 19-4 in dual matches last season, falling in the Big Ten Finals to Ohio State and picking up wins over Rice and LSU In the NCAA Tournament.  The Broncos went 15-7 overall last season, with a 6-7 record in MAC play.
 
Western Michigan heads back on the road next weekend for a double-header against Cleveland State and St. Bonaventure at CSU on Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m.
