Audino Named Alternate For Canada's U19 Team

Rising sophomore participating in camp with Team Canada

TORONTO -- Western Michigan women's basketball player Lauren Audino has been selected as an alternate on Canada's U19 Women's Basketball team as it prepares for the FIBA U19 World Cup.

Audino is with Team Canada training in Geneva, Ohio, in advance of the U19 World Cup to be held in Hungary from August 7-15.Canada's best finish in the event came in 2017, when they earned bronze. Canada currently ranks fourth in the FIBA World Rankings.

Audino, a Welland, Ontario, native, played in five games during her rookie season at Western Michigan, scoring her first collegiate points against Ohio in February. She is one of 10 current NCAA Division I players on the Team Canada roster for the event.
