ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Western Michigan women's track and field team wrapped up the Grand Valley State Extra Weekend Meet on Saturday afternoon, marking the final regular season meet before next weekend's Mid-American Conference Outdoor Championships.
After a successful Friday the Broncos had eight top-five finishes during Saturday's action.
Freshman
Trinity Bracey took second overall in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.22 seconds. She just edged out her twin sister Sarinity, who finished in third place with a time of 25.27. Fellow freshman
Kennedy Campeau took sixth overall with a time of 26.93 seconds.
Trinity Bracey also went on to take sixth place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.39 seconds.
Sarinity Bracey also had a second place finish, just missing out on winning the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.28 seconds. She just edged out fellow freshman
Grace Johnson, who finished in third place with a time of 14.37.
Freshman
Claira Gilchrist took second place in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:06.87. In the middle distance races
Mary Raclawski took fifth in the open 800-meter run with a time of 2:29.02, while
Charlotte Ramser took fifth in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 5:09.24. Freshman Brook Soper finished in ninth in the event with a time of 5:18.82.
Campeau, Johnson and the Bracey sisters combined to run a time of 48.86 seconds in the 4x100-meter relay to take fourth overall.
The Broncos head down to Miami University for the 2021 MAC Outdoor Championships next Friday and Saturday.
