TOLEDO, Ohio – The Western Michigan baseball belted seven home runs in Saturday's doubleheader split with Toledo, winning the first game 15-6 before dropping the second game 11-10 inside Scott Park.
WMU recorded seven home runs in the two games against the Rockets with four different players registering a home run. The Broncos were led in the home run department by senior
Ethan Hajdukovic who had three home runs and now has six on the season and four in the series.
Joining Hajdukovic was

Blake Dunn with two home runs along with
Sean O'Keefe and
Jimmy Allen with one. Hajdukovic led the WMU offense overall with a .625 batting average with six RBIs and six runs scored. Dunn matched Hajdukovic with six RBIs while hitting .286 with two runs scored.
As a team Western Michigan hit a staggering .352 with 25 runs scored on 25 hits in the Saturday doubleheader. The Broncos also recorded a .690 slugging percentage and a .452 on-base percentage with five players recording over a .300 batting average.
With the doubleheader split the Broncos now have an overall record of 15-18 and 14-9 in Mid-American Conference play. WMU looks to win the series in the series finale on Sunday, May 2 with first pitch set for 1:00 p.m.
Game One (Western Michigan – 15, Toledo – 6)
Powered by three home runs with two off the bat of senior Ethan Hajudkovic the Western Michigan baseball team cruised past Toledo, 15-6 in game one of Saturday's doubleheader at Scott Park.
For the second time this season the Broncos had a player with a multi-home run game as Hajdukovic blasted his fourth and fifth home runs of the season. The two home runs capped off a 4-for-5 day at the plate for Hajdukovic with four RBI, one double and four runs scored. It's the first multi home run game of Hajdukovic's career.

Blake Dunn who rocketed his first home run of the season. Dunn was 1-for-4 in the nine-spot in the line-up with one run scored and three RBIs.
Belting his second home run of the season was sophomore
Jimmy Allen who went 1-for-3 with one RBI, one home run and two runs scored. Allen also drew two walks in game one against the Rockets.
Offensively Western Michigan scored 15 runs on 17 hits, one run shy of WMU's season-high. Every player in the line-up recorded a hit in game one with eight players registering an RBI in the 15-6 victory. The Broncos had five players record multi-hit games with Hajdukovic and Dunn recording multi-RBI games
The 15 runs mark the seventh game this season the Broncos have scored double digit runs and the 15h game with double-digit hits. Overall the Broncos scored one in five of the seven innings against the Rockets.
On the mound WMU got a stellar performance from RHP
Easton Sikorski who picked up his third win of the season going six innings, allowing two earned runs while striking out six.
It was a scoreless game between Western Michigan and Toledo before WMU scored one run on two hits in the top of the third.
Sean O'Keefe roped a two-out RBI double to right field, scoring Charping from second to give WMU a 1-0 lead. The Rockets responded with one run on two hits in the bottom of the third to tie the game at one after three innings of play.
WMU extended its lead in the top of the fourth as the Brown & Gold scored three runs on three hits. The top of the fourth was highlighted by a three-run home run from preseason MAC Player of the Year
Blake Dunn. The junior outfielder blasted his first home run of the season with two outs. The Rockets added one run in the bottom of the fourth to trim the WMU lead down to 3-2 after four.
The Broncos added to its lead in the late innings scoring two runs in the fifth, three runs in the sixth and a staggering six runs in the top of the seventh. The top of the fifth was highlighted by home runs from
Ethan Hajdukovic and
Jimmy Allen to give the Broncos a 6-2 advantage. In the top of the sixth, Hajdukovic rocketed his second home run of the game to highlight three runs on two hits in the top of the sixth.
Leading 15-2 heading into the bottom of the seventh the Rockets looked to rally with four runs on three hits. The Rocket comeback fell short as Toledo struck out swinging to end the game and secure the 15-6 win for WMU.
Game Two (Western Michigan – 10, Toledo – 11)
In another high scoring affair the Broncos brought the tying run to the plate in the bottom of the seventh but was unable to mount a comeback in a 11-10 loss to Toledo in game two of Saturday's doubleheader.
For the third straight game WMU scored double digit runs on eight hits with seven players earning a hit with
Sean O'Keefe and
Ethan Hajdukovic posting multi-RBI contests. WMU also posted three home runs while drawing four walks at the plate.
O'Keefe belted his second home run of the season in the top of the sixth to highlight a 1-for-4 day at the plate with one run scored and two RBIs. Hajdukovic continued his stellar day at the plate going 1-for-3 with two RBIs, two runs scored and earning his fourth home run of the series. Â
Junior outfielder
Blake Dunn blasted his second home run of the season to cap off a 1-for-3 performance at the plate with three RBIs and one run scored. Senior
Drew Devine was the lone Bronco to register a multi-hit game going 2-for-4 with one run scored.
Western Michigan got on the board early in the top of the first as the Broncos capitalized on a Toledo error.
Will Morrison grounded out to the Toledo shortstop, scoring Charping from third to give WMU a 1-0 lead.
The Broncos added to their lead in the top of the second scoring six runs on three hits with Toledo error. After
Drew Devine scored on a wild pitch, junior
Blake Dunn connected on a three-run home run for his second homer of the season to extend the Bronco lead to 4-0. WMU scored two more with two outs to earn a 6-0 advantage after the first two innings.
Toledo clawed back and gained the lead in the middle innings of game two scoring one run in the second, three in the third, six in the fourth and one in the fifth to gain a 11-7 lead after five innings of play.
WMU cut the Rocket lead down to one in the top of the sixth with home runs from
Sean O'Keefe and
Ethan Hajdukovic. With two outs O'Keefe belted his second home run of the season over the centerfield wall to trim the Toledo lead down to 11-8. In the next at-bat,
Ethan Hajdukovic connected on his sixth home run of the season and fourth of the series to trim the Bronco deficit down to 11-10.
Western Michigan brought the tying run to the plate in the bottom of the seventh with two outs. The Broncos were unable to tie the game as a fielder's choice ended game two and gave Toledo the doubleheader split.
