BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Western Michigan track and field team wrapped up the Hilltopper Relays hosted by Western Kentucky with three more event wins on Saturday.
After winning the hammer throw on Friday, senior
Aniya Davis won the discus for the third straight meet, reaching a distance of 158' 6" (48.32m). Junior
Madison Ochs took fifth place and senior
Taylor Eaton earned sixth in the event.
For the second time this season
Juliane Sormain won the 800-meter run. She ran a season-best time of 2:12.41, chopping .68 seconds off of her previous season best that she set at last weekend's ADIDAS Winthrop Invitational.
Sophomore
Annalise James claimed first place in her first steeplechase of the year. The Lowell, Ind., native ran a time of 11:36.27 to earn the win. Classmate
Kailyn Mince finished fourth overall with a time of 12:26.05.
Senior
Rebecca McNamee took third overall as WMU's top finisher in the 1,500-meter run. McNamee ran a time of 4:35.65.
Western Michigan heads to Drake University for the 44th annual Jim Duncan Invitational on Friday.
