Jacobson, Williams Earn MAC Postseason Honors

CLEVELAND – Redshirt senior Reilly Jacobson and redshirt freshman Taylor Williams of Western Michigan women's basketball earned All-Mid-American Conference Postseason honors on Tuesday.

Announced by the league and voted on by the leagues' head coaches, Jacobson and Williams were named All-MAC Honorable Mention while Williams was named to the MAC All-Freshman Team.

Jacobson led the Broncos this season at 16.1 points per game and ranked second on the team with 6.8 rebounds. Jacobson ranked second in the MAC with a .504 field goal percentage and sixth in three-point field goal percentage (.412). Defensively Jacobson had a team-high 21 steals and was fifth in the MAC at 1.0 blocks per contest.

The redshirt senior forward posted back-to-back 20-point games to end the season and scored 20 or more in four of the last five contests. Overall the Waukee, Iowa native scored in double figures in 18 of the 21 games played this season with six 20-point performances. Jacobson notched a career-high 28 points on 12-of-17 shooting from the field in WMU's final home game against Toledo.

Earning All-MAC honorable mention and MAC All-Freshman Team honors, Taylor Williams averaged 12.3 points per game while leading the team and ranking fourth in the MAC at 9.7 rebounds per contest. Williams ranked ninth in the conference in field goal percentage (.465) and seventh in blocks (0.7).

Williams scored in double figures in 15 of WMU's 21 games and registered two 20-point games. The redshirt freshman forward had 10 games with at least 10 rebounds and recorded a team-high eight double-doubles. Williams' best performance came on Feb. 10 against Akron, scoring a career-high 30 points while tying a school record with 21 rebounds. The 21 rebounds were the fourth most in a single-game in MAC history while her 14 made field goals was tied for the third most in school history.

The redshirt freshman is one of just three players in the NCAA this season to have a 30-point and 20-rebound game.
