CONWAY, Ark. -- The Western Michigan softball team suffered a sweep on Saturday in Arkansas, dropping game one to Central Arkansas, 11-0, before falling to Stephen F. Austin, 8-7, in the night cap.
| Game One
The Broncos dropped an 11-0 decision to host Central Arkansas in the first game of the day. The Bears plated five runs in the first before adding three in the second, two in the third and a single run in the fourth to take the game in five innings.
Jordyn Swinehart had the lone Bronco hit in the contest.
Autumn Godwin threw three innings of solid relief work for WMU, allowing just three earned runs while striking out three.
| Game Two
Game two saw WMU jump out to a 6-1 lead before the Lumberjacks came storming back with a seven-run fifth inning to take an 8-7 win. The Broncos opened up a lead thanks to a four third. After SFA took the lead in the fifth, WMU pulled within a run when
Rissa Bajusz delivered an RBI triple, but a strikeout ended the game.
Sydney Stefanick was 3-for-3 with three RBI in the effort, while Macknzie Swinehart was 2-for-3 and scored twice.
Reily Galloway Bajusz added RBI in the effort.
Stefanick started and took the loss in the circle, allowing three earned runs in 4.2 innings of work. Bajusz threw the final 1.1 innings without allowing a run.
