Broncos Square Off Against First-Place Toledo Saturday

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Playing its second game in three days the Western Michigan men's basketball team hits the road for a showdown with Mid-American Conference leader Toledo on Saturday, Feb. 27.

Scouting the Broncos
Western Michigan is set to play its second game in three days with an overall record of 4-14 and 3-10 in conference play. The Broncos are fresh off a 74-66 home loss to Miami on Thursday and have dropped three straight after winning two straight.

Familiar Foes
The Broncos have dropped eight straight against Toledo and seek their first win over the Rockets since Feb. 21, 2017.

Letting it Fly
Sophomore guard B. Artis White knocked down a career-high six three-pointers against Miami on Thursday. White leads the team with 47 threes' and ranks third in the MAC with a .420 three-point field goal percentage.

Deep Streaking
B. Artis White has made at least two three-pointers in 14 of the 17 games he's played in. White has also made at least three from long distance the last five games.

Simp-LEE Terrific
Senior forward Greg lee ranks second on the team at 13.0 points per game while leading the Broncos with 7.2 rebounds per contest. Lee over the past five games is averaging 15.6 points and shooting 55.7 percent from the field.

The Hoop is Large
Western Michigan is one of just two teams in the MAC to have two players rank in the top ten in the conference in field goal percentage:
Titus Wright – 56.5% - 4th
Greg Lee – 50.8% - 8th

Cardiac Broncos
Nine of WMU's 18 games this season have been decided by 10 points or less including five of the last six contests.

Leading at the Half
Over the past three seasons when leading at the half, Western Michigan has an overall record of 44-15.

Seeking a Trip Back to Cleveland
With only eight teams qualifying for the 2021 MAC Tournament the Western Michigan men's basketball team seeks their first trip back to Cleveland since 2016.

What's Ahead?
Following Saturday's contest the Broncos head into the final week of the regular season with two scheduled games. WMU kicks off the week on the road at Northern Illinois on Tuesday, March 2 before concluding the regular season at home against Eastern Michigan on Friday, March 5.
