For the second straight week
Logan Case was named MAC West Setter of the Week. For the second time this season
Kaley Smith was named MAC West Defensive Player of the Week. The duo helped guide WMU to a pair of four-set victories over in-state rival Central Michigan last week.
Case recorded a staggering 103 assists, averaging 12.88 per set in the two four-set victories for WMU. Case also had 15 digs in the two matches, averaging 1.88 per set to go
along with a .833 attack percentage with five kills. Last Thursday Case registered 52 assists to go along with seven digs and followed up her performance with 51 assists, four kills, one block and eight digs on Friday.
Overall Case lead the Broncos with 328 assists this season, averaging 11.31 per set. Cases' 328 total assists leads the MAC while her 11.31 assists per set ranks fourth in the conference. The freshman setter has now recorded over 50 assists in three straight matches.
Senior
Kaley Smith led the Broncos defensively with 50 digs, averaging 6.25 per set in the pair of four-set wins over Central Michigan. On Thursday, Smith led the way with 23 digs to go along with four assists. On Friday Smith registered 27 digs while earning two assists and one service ace.
Smith recorded over 20 digs in both matches last week, marking the third straight match she has went over 20 digs and the fourth match overall this season. With 168 digs this season Smith ranks second in the MAC while ranking third in the conference with 5.79 digs per set.
