KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan women's basketball begins regular season play this Tuesday, Nov. 9 as they host a non-conference matchup against visiting Kentucky State. Tip-off on Tuesday is scheduled for 12 p.m. inside University Arena.
Kentucky State enters Kalamazoo on Tuesday for their first taste of external competition, having no prior exhibition matchups. The Thorobreads return their leading scorer from the 2020-21 season in senior guard Sarah Woghiren, who averaged 10.7 PPG, as well as 6.4 RPG, for her team.
KSU also returns their leading rebounder from last season, senior forward Andrea Wallace, who tallied 7.6 RPG and 8.4 PPG. With only one freshman on the roster and six seniors, the Thorobreads offer a plethora of experience across the board.
Western Michigan enters Tuesday's contest coming off of a 77-53 exhibition win over NAIA member Goshen College on Halloween Sunday. Three Broncos finished with double digit scoring, including a double-double from sophomore forward Taylor Williams, who totaled 22 points and 13 rebounds, shooting 50% from the field.

Lauren Audino also contributed eight points and five rebounds to the Bronco campaign, and finished with a team high +/- of 21 for a very efficient afternoon.
Tuesday's noon contest is faculty and staff appreciation day at University Arena. WMU Faculty and Staff can enter the game for free with a Bronco ID, and are also encouraged to take advantage of the lunchbreak concession special of a free tub of popcorn with any drink purchase.
