KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan women's soccer team fell to rival Central Michigan, 1-0, in double-overtime at the WMU Soccer Complex on Sunday afternoon.
With 2:03 left to go in the second overtime period Amanda Britain headed a cross from Jaelyn Dobrowolski into the net for her second goal of the season and the game-winner.
The game was back and forth for the duration, with each team firing off 15 total shots and shots on goal being even at 6-6.
Bailey Korhorn led the Broncos with four total shots, landing two on frame. Korhorn had a chance in the second overtime that was saved by CMU goalie Allison LaPoint. Hannah Redoute also had a header from inside the box late in the second half that went just over the net.
Maggie Rogers made five saves in net for Western Michigan.
The Broncos are back in action next Thursday at Ohio before hosting Kent State on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
