Scouting the Broncos
Western Michigan enters Wednesday's contest with an overall record of 1-6 and 0-5 in Mid-American Conference play. The Broncos have dropped their last six contests and is coming off a 67-62 loss to Eastern Michigan on Sunday, Jan. 10.
Grounding the Rockets
Last season WMU swept Toledo in the regular season, defeating Toledo at home 84-73 before winning on the road 70-58. It was the first time WMU swept Toledo since the 2013-14 regular season.

Shafer Provides a Spark
Off the bench against Eastern Michigan, sophomore
Sydney Shafer registered a career-high 23 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field. Shafer also collected four three-pointers in 27 minutes.

Western Michigan is led by a trio of double digit scorers in
Reilly Jacobson (13.1 ppg),
Sydney Shafer (11.7 ppg) and Taylor Williams (10.6 ppg).

Against Eastern Michigan, freshman
Megan Wagner and
Hannah Spitzley each made their first collegiate start. Wagner had five rebounds and team-high four assists while Spitzley registered a career-high eight points.

243 of WMU's 434 points this season have been scored by underclassmen, led by sophomore
Sydney Shafer with 82 (11.7 ppg). WMU's underclassmen have accounted for 56 percent of WMU's total offense this season.
