KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Former Western Michigan All-America and 2017 Hermann Trophy semifinalistÂ
Brandon Bye returned to action with the MLS is Back Tournament in Orlando, Fla. Now a defender for the New England Revolution, Bye was named to SBI Soccer's MLS is Back Group Stage Best XI.
"New England's defense has been one of the surprises of the tournament, and Bye's emergence as a rock-solid right back has been another example of a young player thriving under Bruce Arena," SBI said of Bye's effort in Orlando.Â
Bye helped the Revolution to a knockout stage bid in the tournament after a 1-0-2 showing in the group stage. New England fell 1-0 to the Philadelphia Union in the Round of 16 on Saturday to be eliminated from the event.
Bye has played every minute of the Revolution's 2020 campaign. In Orlando, he anchored a defense that conceded just two goals in four games and allowed just 3.75 shots on goal per contest.Â
