CLEVELAND – The Mid-American Conference announced its women's basketball Academic All-MAC team on Tuesday with
Reilly Jacobson,
Breanna Mobley,
Kamrin Reed and
Maddie Watters of Western Michigan women's basketball earning the academic honor.
Senior guard
Kamrin Reed earns Academic All-MAC honors for the third year in a row while Jacobson, Mobley and Watters earned the academic honor for the first time in their careers. Reed becomes just the fourth Bronco in school history to earn Academic All-MAC three times.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
Reed finished her senior campaign with a 3.62 GPA in sports management while also ranking fourth on the team with 7.7 points per game. Reed ranked second on the team with 43 three-pointers and notched a season-high 17 points back on Nov. 20 against Detroit Mercy.
Senior forward
Breanna Mobley earned Academic All-MAC honors for the first time in her career after registering a 3.24 GPA in sports management. Mobley also earned Second Team All-MAC honors after averaging 13.7 points and 11 rebounds during her senior campaign. Mobley became just the second Bronco in school history to eclipse 1,000 career points and rebounds.
Jacobson earned Academic All-MAC honors for the first time in her career after recording a 3.64 GPA in pre-psychology. Jacobson in 24 games this season averaged 6 points and 3.5 rebounds while shooting 48.7 percent from the field. Jacobson posted a season-high 20 points on 9-of-11 shooting from the field on Jan. 18 versus Central Michigan.
Guard Maddie Waters earned a 3.44 GPA in pre-accountancy to earn Academic All-MAC honors. Watters knocked down 26 three-pointers during her sophomore campaign and shot 31.3 percent from long distance. Waters scored in 16 of the 30 games she played during the 2019-20 season.
