KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Western Michigan women's tennis will head back on the road with three non-conference matches in North Carolina. They will face North Carolina A&T on Sunday at 10 a.m. in Greensboro, before traveling to Buies Creek for a contest against Campbell at 2 p.m on Monday. The Broncos will close out their Tar Heel State road trip with a 1 p.m. match at North Carolina Central on Tuesday.Â
SCOUTING NORTH CAROLINA A&T
The Aggies are still looking for their first victory of the 2020 season after winning just one match last season and failing to qualify for the MEAC Women's Tennis Championships.
Junior Mikaya Hamilton earned the first singles win of the year for her team last weekend versus Radford, defeating Tyler Blalock at the No. 3 spot. The freshman duo of Jaimy Lokoschus and Florielvis Pernaleta won the first doubles match of the season for North Carolina A&T against the Highlanders as well. Â
SCOUTING CAMPBELL
The Lady Camels have had a strong start to their season, recording a 7-2 overall mark early on. They finished fourth in the final Big South standings for 2019.Â
Junior Ana Castillo and senior Lou Regan earned all-conference honors last year for the Lady Camels. Reigning Big South Player of the Week Lea Cutura leads her team with a 5-3 record in singles competition.Â
SCOUTING NORTH CAROLINA CENTRAL
The Eagles finished third in the final MEAC standings last season after going 3-2 in conference action. Their only victory of 2020 came against Winston-Salem State on February 1.Â
North Carolina Central returns two all-conference selections from 2019, in junior's Frida Cnossen and Maru Berghaus. Â

Valerie Riegraf has been playing outstanding tennis lately, as she has won six consecutive singles matches for the Broncos since dropping her first contest of the 2020 season. The native of Germany went 2-0 last week with victories over Lesley Foe of Marquette and Katarina Dukic of Chicago State. Fellow junior
Jeryn Jack is enjoying a streak of her own, having won three straight singles matches in dual play.Â
MAC HONORS FOR THE FIFTH TIME
Western Michigan picked up its fifth MAC weekly award on Wednesday, as senior
Gabriela Slavova and freshman
Lindsey Zieglar were named the Doubles Team of the Week. They defeated 2019 All-Big East selection Milica Novakovic and her partner Giulia Turconi of Marquette 6-0 on Sunday at No. 2 doubles.
