Scouting the Broncos
Western Michigan heads into its match-up with the Fighting Irish coming off a 66-62 loss at Butler last Wednesday. The Broncos had three score in double figures against Butler with sophomore guard B. Artis White leading the way with 17 points.
New Man in Charge
For the first time in 17 years, Western Michigan men's basketball will have a new coach roaming the sidelines as
Clayton Bates was hired to lead the Bronco basketball program back in March. Bates is the 14
th men's basketball head coach in program history.
Closer Than You Think
It will be the first time Western Michigan and Notre Dame have played since 1992. Of the 27 meetings between WMU and Notre Dame 16 have been decided by single digits, including the last three meetings.
MAC Rankings
WMU ranks third in the MAC in scoring defense (66.0 ppg) and second in the MAC in blocks per game (5.0). The Broncos also lead the MAC in three-point field goal percentage (.500).
Last Win Over The ACC
Western Michigan's last win over an ACC opponent came back in 2006 when the Broncos defeated Virginia Tech, 71-68.
Letting It Fly
Junior forward
Patrick Emilien against Butler scored 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the field with three three-pointers. Emilien's three from long distance matched a career-high. The Toronto, Canada native had just five three-pointers all of last season.
Quite a Debut
In his Bronco debut senior forward
Greg Lee led the Broncos with seven rebounds to go along with six points. The CSU Bakersfield graduate transfer was 3-of-10 shooting from the field with two assists.

Following Wednesday's contest the Broncos travel to East Lansing for a match-up against nationally ranked Michigan State on Sunday, Dec. 6. Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m. on the Big Ten Network.
