KALAMAZOO, Mich. –  Western Michigan University Athletics is set to launch a comprehensive and immersive virtual game day experience to bring fans into Waldo Stadium for the 2020 football season.

The virtual gameday experience begins with the home opener against MAC West foe Toledo on Wednesday, Nov. 11 at 8:00 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, tailgating or gathering on campus and/or in University parking lots is not permitted and will be monitored closely. WMU encourages all Bronco fans to watch the upcoming football games from home in a safe manner.

The virtual gameday experience will feature a pregame show with Connor Clingen and former Western Michigan quarterback Zach Terrell beginning at 7:15 p.m. Clingen and Terrell will break down the Broncos' week 1 performance at Akron and provide unique analysis on the upcoming matchup with Toledo.

After kickoff, Bronco fans will have the opportunity to join in on the gameday experience with the Virtual Tailgate of the Game contest. Each home game, fans will be asked to share photos of their socially distant or virtual tailgate on social media using the hashtag #WMUTailgate.

The fans showing the most Broncos spirit will be selected as the Tailgate of the Game and win a Bronco prize pack. All submissions must be made by the end of the first quarter to be entered to win.

Fans can also download the WMU Gameday app to participate in Halftime Trivia. The fans with the highest score will be sent a WMU prize pack.

While general public attendance is not permitted at home football games this season, fans can still show their Bronco spirit and help create a unique atmosphere that will be seen by television viewers across the country.
