KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan Athletics caught up with former Western Michigan volleyball player Mary Murphy for a Q&A in this edition of Behind the W.

During her four-year career Murphy played in 115 matches for the Brown & Gold and is the program's career assists leader with 4,501. Murphy also ranks eighth in school history in career assists per set. Murphy ended her playing career with three straight seasons of over 1,000 assists.

In her senior campaign in 2018 the Wilmington, Ill., native led the Broncos with 1,110 assists and ended the regular season ranking third in the MAC with 9.89 assists per set. Murphy had success not only on the court but in the classroom as well earning Academic All-MAC honors three straight seasons.
